Following Doctor’s Orders
I had my bi-weekly doctor visit this afternoon. I’ve never been to the clinic this late in the day (4:30pm), but everyone is still happy and perky. It’s probably because they’ll be closing soon and they could go home? heh
My checkup went really well. The doctor is happy with mine and my baby’s progress. But he also insists that I stay on bedrest (laying down as much as possible) for the rest of the year. This saddens me a bit, but I know it’s for the best. It means no going out and less typing on my computer and more reading in bed and listening to podcasts instead.
My next visit will be two weeks from now. I get to take the fun Glucose Tolerance Test. I’ll read up on it more later, but from what I’ve heard from friends, it’s a test where you drink an orangey-awful-tasting liquid. After all I’ve been through in this pregnancy, this is not the worse thing I have to do. lol
Albert also got his ‘whopping cough/td’ vaccination before I saw the doctor. He didn’t look too happy afterward. lol It does ache and feel like someone punched you after.
For the rest of the night, I just laid in bed, focused on my baby’s movements, and went to sleep early. The doctor scared me enough that I didn’t want to do anything else. I’ll have to find another chair that really reclines before I sit in front of the computer too long. Maybe a lawn chair? lol That’ll be next on Albert’s shopping list for me.
