Third Visit to the Hospital This Week
To my Baby Girl:
Congratulations! You finally look pregnant!
— Yes, that’s what my doctor said to me today… lol
This is the third time I’ve been to the hospital this week. The first was for my weekly shot on Tuesday, then my grueling glucose test on Wednesday, but I was most anxious for today’s visit because we get to check up on you sweetie!
It was just a typical checkup, and the doctor is very proud of our progress. Your heartbeat is strong, but he still wants me to rest until we reach some more milestones. He also talked to me about my glucose test. He smiled and said, “congrats, you’re glucose intolerant.” I was confused at the moment because I wasn’t sure if it was a joke, or if it was some play on words. Basically, he means, I don’t have gestational diabetes, but since my 2-hour test was a high number, it could turn into it. So he wants me to come back in a month and retake the 2-hour test. I’ll need to fast for at least 2 hours before, and take the test. Then go eat a meal, and return in 2 hours for the next test. At least I don’t have to do the whole 3-hour test again!
I had a list of questions to ask him.. from bedrest exercises, proper diet, back pains, removing my stitches, to what body part you were constantly showing me. *points to right side of stomach* I’m pretty sure it’s your little bottom sweetie. haha Anyhow, it was a nice and pleasant visit. And lastly, he said, “Congrats, you finally look pregnant!” LOL Yes dear, you’ve grown a lot within the last two weeks! He’s very happy with both of our progress, and said to keep up the good work.
So Daddy and I went out to dinner for a small celebration. It was so nice to sit in a restaurant again! We’ve been wanting to try out this nearby Japanese restaurant. I ordered Nabeyaki Udon, my favorite Japanese soup. I asked them to make it without the egg, but add extra veggies, and they were more than happy to fulfill my request. I found it kind of hard to eat though since I can’t really lean forward with the tummy in the way. haha So I just transferred portions of the soup into a small bowl and that made it so much easier!
We then went to Trader Joe’s to pick up some yummy foods for you. I only walked around for a bit and got tired quickly. This is what happens when I don’t use my legs for months! The little exercise was good for me though. It seemed to help with my back. I think just being in one position for a long time was making it so achy.
And that was our lovely day together. I was mostly happy to hear that you’re doing well, and being able to eat in a restaurant. I do love life’s little pleasures. 😉
