Week 34 – My Little Honeydew

Nov 04, 11 Month 8

Hello my little Honeydew! Welcome to Week 34! I’m so proud of you. We hit another milestone together. It also means just another 5-6 weeks before we meet you! Definitely an exciting and scary thought for me. I still have so much to do before you arrive, but no energy to do it. Fatigue has finally set in again. It takes me a long time to do a simple task now. And even though I write myself a TO-DO list every morning, I could probably cross out maybe one or two items off of it.

But darling, you’re growing pretty quickly. I have the same view everyday — the top of my tummy. So when I see someone take a photo from another angle, it just surprises me to see how big you’re growing!

My legs and ankles are getting to be on the thick side now. heh, which strike me as funny, because, what a difference a week makes! I have no ankles now. lol

Moving around is getting harder. I can’t stand or sit for very long, so I try to nap more often. Although, this week, I’ve been a little bit stressed trying to get our house ready for your next baby shower. Daddy’s been working very hard fixing and moving things around the house. We can’t wait to see all of our friends tomorrow.. it’s been so long, and everyone is excited to meet you soon!

How your baby’s growing:
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she’s born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you’ve been nervous about preterm labor, you’ll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
