Happy 14 Months!

Happy 14 Months darling! I still can’t believe you’re growing up so fast. You’re like a little ball of energy! We’re constantly chasing you around the house.. and that’s with you just crawling! I bet those 2+ hour naps help you recharge throughout the day don’t they?

One of the greatest joys of parenthood is watching you learn something new each day. It’s incredible how fast you’re picking things up now. Your baby sign language skills are getting better and better. As of now, you know the signs for wash hands (the first sign you learned!), milk, no (shake head), more, eat, think, point, hi, goodbye, bath, shake, blow kiss, clap, nose, eyes, mouth, ears, dog, and baby.

Although you haven’t learned the signs yet, you understand what sleep, dance, book, banana, good morning, kiss, cereal, cookie, pretty, peekaboo, momma, daddy, drums, iPad, slide to unlock, computer, all mean. You also know where your feet and toes are. Learning sign language has become part of our bedtime routine now. And you enjoy showing us what you know.

And when we go shopping, you also recognize Hello Kitty, Elmo, and Pooh very well, and that could get me into a lot of trouble. lol You’re constantly pointing them out when you see them!

You’re learning a lot about feelings, especially in other people. When we’re sad or crying, you would hug or kiss us to make us stop. And you’re constantly laughing at things you think are funny or silly. I never get tired of hearing those giggles. Nor do I get tired of hearing you say Momma over and over again. It’s like music to my ears.

During the day, when we ask you to go to sleep, you take each of your stuffed toys, hug them, and lay on top of them to show us you’re sleeping.. and then in a few seconds, you get up and repeat it on another animal. What a silly girl!

Your favorite verbal words now are “Nana” and we assume it’s “Banana” but everything you point to is “Nana.” lol I can’t tell you how much I love you. You bring absolutely joy to me and your Daddy.
