Our Day at DisneySea!

May 24, 13 DisneySea

My daughter loves Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, and all those Disney characters. My husband and I have been wanting to take her to Disneyland for a while. Since we both had some time off, we thought it’d be a good opportunity to check out Tokyo DisneySea while we were in Japan.

So for our first day in Japan, we spent the afternoon and evening at DisneySea. Tickets were 6200 Yen for adult tickets, which is approximately equivalent to $62. The park was smaller than our local Disneyland, but the attention to detail was magnificent. The park consisted of 7 lands — Lost Rivera Delta, Port Discovery, American Waterfront, Mediterranean Harbor, Mysterious Island, Mermaid Lagoon, and Arabian Coast.

The moment we walked into the park, we were immediately greeted by Chip and Dale. My daughter thought that was the coolest thing. She couldn’t stop laughing or touching their noses!

Since we had the little one, my favorite place was the Mermaid Lagoon. The under-water-land was decorated with lovely and colorful coral. And as you journey deeper into the lagoon, you can see fun areas for the little ones to play with. I absolutely loved the Little Mermaid Theatre which was a 15 minute show where Ariel swims and sings with her underwater friends. It was an amazing show. The only bad thing is that it’s so short!

My daughter got to go on her first ride, Scuttle’s Scooter. I was more scared of it than she was! Scared she’d slip so I was holding onto her so tightly.

Arial’s Playground was a lot of fun for our little one. She loved walking up the steep ramps and then down again.. then trying to catch the water! It’s a very good place for the really young ones and for parents to sit and rest for a bit.

If you love Aladdin, you’ll love the Arabian Coast. Pay attention to all the details in the streets and scenery. You’ll see Genie is everywhere!

Overall, we had a lot of fun. The best part was seeing the smile on my daughter’s face as she met the characters. And of course, picking out gifts for our friends in the gift store!
